‘Stand with the Land’ for 2025's Ag Day
November 18, 2025

Australia's Annual National Agriculture Day returns on 21 November 2025, calling on all Australians to 'Stand with the Land'.

Held on the third Friday of November each year, Ag Day is one day to celebrate an industry that’s part of our lives every single day.

New Ag Day Theme Calls to "Stand with the Land"

The National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) is urging the public to get behind farmers and agriculture, with the 2025 theme.

The #agdayau website notes that over the past year, our industry has navigated record-breaking floods, devastating droughts, imperfect policies, and trade disruptions.

Previous NFF President David Jochinke said this year’s theme, Stand with the Land, honours the sector’s trials and tribulations.

“We’ve given Ag Day this theme because we want as many people as possible to get behind the day,” Mr Jochinke said.

NFF President Hamish McIntyre said the annual event is a wonderful chance to celebrate the people behind our nation’s food and fibre.

“Some Aussies know very little about the farmers and workers who, against all odds, continue to put food on their tables," Mr McIntyre said.

“Everyone in the ag industry shows extraordinary grit and innovation, and today is the day to celebrate that determination.”

Ag Day Photo Competition

Building on tradition, the 2025 event provides people with the chance to win a share of $5,000 cash thanks to competition sponsors Syngenta.

Ag Day is all about celebrating the people, places, and produce that make Australian agriculture unique. And what better way to share your story than through your own lens? Whether you’re a budding photographer, a videographer, or just someone with a smartphone and a keen eye, we want to see your take on life on the land.

NFF President Hamish McIntyre said the competition is a highlight of Ag Day celebrations.

“Every year we’re blown away by the creativity and passion that shines through in these entries. It’s a chance for everyone to show the world why agriculture is at the heart of our communities,” he said.

Entries are open to all ages and skill levels, with prizes up for grabs, including $2,000 for first place, $1,000 for second, and $500 for four runners-up. The judges are looking for photos and videos that capture this year’s theme, Stand with the Land.

The competition closes at 5 pm AEDT on Ag Day, Friday 21 November 2025.

How You Can Join In The Celebrations

The NFF has highlighted the many ways people can get involved this year.

“We’re calling on all Australians to Stand with the Land this Friday. Whether it’s attending an Ag Day event, entering the photography competition, or posting photos on social media; it all helps our industry feel appreciated," said Mr McIntyre.

With harvest on across most of Australia, the NFF is encouraging farmers to share snippets of their day with the public through social media.

"...there’s no better time to share a photo or video of what’s growing in your paddock that will end up on the dinner plates of millions of Australians."
