About the Role
Reporting to the Regional Renewable Energy Response Committee (RRERC), you’ll drive coordinated local government responses to the South West Renewable Energy Zone (REZ). Based with Hay Shire Council, this pivotal role connects councils, communities, and the renewable energy sector to deliver meaningful regional outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Coordination: Align planning, infrastructure, and community priorities across seven councils.
- Governance & Policy: Act as Secretariat for the REZ Local Government Committee and implement local energy strategies.
- Stakeholder Management & Collaboration: Build strong relationships across councils, communities, and the renewable energy sector to drive successful outcomes.
- Build Capability: Develop tools and forecasts to strengthen council readiness for the energy transition.
- Champion Community Outcomes: Support workforce, housing, and social initiatives that enable sustainable development.
About You
- Qualifications or relevant experience in planning, regional development, infrastructure, public policy, or related fields
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence
- Understanding of the NSW planning system, renewable energy policy, and local government frameworks
- Strategic, relationship-driven leader with experience in complex stakeholder environments
- Skilled at influencing, collaborating, and driving regional projects
