About the Property & Company
This property covers 10,000 hectares of is following the most modern grazing and stock husbandry techniques. Currently running a self-replacing high performing Angus herd of approximately 2000 breeders.  The majority of heifers are retained, and Steers are targeted at the feedlot market. The sheep enterprise is 7000 fine wool merino ewes with 50% joined to terminal sire. These lambs sold as stores or finished on centre pivot irrigation. The company takes pride in its quality livestock grazing enterprise, with ZQ-accredited Merino sheep and EU-accredited cattle.

About The Role
You will be working directly with the farm managers, a on day-to-day operations, primarily focussing on grazing management following soft handing animal husbandry.  Grazing management includes rotational grazing, confinement feeding and body scoring to optimise animal health. A practical approach, working dogs and mechanical aptitude for general farm maintenance and machinery operation will be highly regarded.
In this role, you will
  • Implement lifetime ewe management and grazing-for-profit techniques.
  • Assist with all core animal husbandry tasks.
  • Monitor pastures to plan stock rotations and feed budgets.
  • Maintain farm machinery fencing and water infrastructure.
  • maintain the property's presentation.
  • Operate farm machinery, for fodder production and in containment feeding
  • Uphold a safe working environment.

Not essential but highly sought are:
  • Hands on experience in sheep and cattle nutrition, drenches, and vaccination
  • A working dog for sheep with experience  
  • A "can-do" attitude.
  • The initiative to work autonomously and within a team.
  • Willingness to learn and improve.

Benefits
