You'll manage the entire production process for the irrigated crops (grapes, avocados, and citrus), including pruning vineyards and orchards, administering fertilisers, and harvesting.
The Details
Reporting to the Board and working closely with the Company Secretary, you will manage all on-farm operations, including:
- Planning and overseeing irrigation, pruning, fertilising and harvesting programs
- Managing pest and disease control across vineyards and orchards
- Leading and supervising a team of 6 full-time staff plus seasonal contractors
- Scheduling and coordinating daily operational activities
- Maintaining accurate records for fertiliser use, maintenance and harvest
- Developing production budgets and performance targets
- Implementing and monitoring WHS policies and procedures
- Ensuring plant, equipment and infrastructure are well maintained
About You
- Proven experience in irrigated horticulture (grapes, citrus or avocados highly regarded)
- Strong people leadership and team management skills
- Sound planning, budgeting and organisational capability
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
- Commitment to workplace safety and compliance
