The Lucas Group is partnering with Western Murray Irrigation Limited to appoint an Executive Operations Manager
This role leads the delivery of large-scale, non-potable water irrigation and drainage systems, supporting a high-value horticultural region.
Reporting to the CEO, you will take ownership of operational performance, asset lifecycle management and capital infrastructure delivery, ensuring the reliability, efficiency and future readiness of critical water assets.
This is a genuine succession opportunity, with structured mentoring from the retiring incumbent to support a smooth transition into executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day water delivery & drainage operations, ensuring reliable and efficient system performance
- Oversee asset management, maintenance & capital works delivery
- Manage infrastructure projects including planning, procurement & contractors
- Manage within operational and capital budgets
- Support strategic planning & investment decisions
- Lead & develop a small high-performing team
- Maintain strong safety culture, regulatory compliance & stakeholder engagement
About You
You are an experienced and collaborative operational leader with a strong background in water, irrigation, utilities or infrastructure.
You are comfortable balancing strategic thinking and practical problem-solving and are motivated by the opportunity to make a tangible impact in a regional organisation.
Your experience may include:
- Degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Mechanical or similar)
- Experience in infrastructure operations, maintenance or project leadership
- Asset management and capital project delivery
- Financial capability across budgets, forecasting & project controls
- Technical knowledge of pumps, pipelines, meters & SCADA/PLC systems
- Knowledge of WHS, compliance and risk frameworks
- Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels
