Established in 1981, this privately owned agribusiness is a trusted accumulator, supplier, and exporter of grain and other agricultural commodities.

About the Role
As Assistant Accountant, you’ll work within a small, supportive and high-performing finance team. This is a hands-on role offering broad exposure across financial and management accounting, with the chance to learn from experienced professionals and contribute to both domestic and export operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily financial and management accounting activities.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
  • Perform reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Use Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and accounting systems to analyse data.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to meet deadlines and drive process improvements.

About You
You’re detail-focused, proactive, and eager to build a career in agribusiness finance. You enjoy variety and thrive in a small team environment where every contribution matters.

What You’ll Bring
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence learning new systems.
  • Sound understanding of financial and management accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A strong work ethic, sense of urgency, and collaborative attitude.
  • Knowledge of agriculture, grain marketing, or international trade is an advantage (not essential).
