Mark your calendars for Friday, 20 November. It's time to celebrate Australian agriculture!

The National Farmers' Federation (NFF) has officially unveiled the theme for National Agriculture Day 2026, and it resonates with all Australians: "Our Farmers, Our Future."

Why Ag Day Matters

National Ag Day is Australia's annual celebration of the farming sector and the hardworking people who keep our nation fed, clothed, and thriving. From the food on our plates to the fibre in our clothes and the timber in our homes, farmers are at the heart of it all.

NFF President Hamish McIntyre emphasised the far-reaching impact of Australian agriculture: "Whether we’re talking about food security, export earnings, regional communities, environmental stewardship or innovation, farmers are central to all of that and to Australia’s prosperity."

What started as an industry celebration has evolved into something much bigger: a day that bridges the gap between city and cuntry through our shared connection to food and farming.

"Ag Day is a chance to showcase the people behind the food on our plates, the fibre in our clothes, the timber in our houses and the industries that support regional communities and underpin Australia's economy," Mr McIntyre said.

Get Involved

With Ag Day just around the corner, now is the time to plan how you'll show your support. Last year saw more than 110 official events held across offices, paddocks, and shopfronts nationwide, and the NFF is hoping to see that number grow in 2026.

Here's how you can participate:

• Host an event: whether big or small, every celebration counts
• Wear an Ag Day tee: show your support loud and proud
• Share your story: connect with others by sharing your agricultural journey
• Enter the photo competition: capture the spirit of Australian farming
• Share on social media: use the NFF's ready-made social media tiles to spread the word

Whether you're a farmer, school, agribusiness, farm organisation, local council, or community group, there's a place for you at the Ag Day table.
